Initially, the company's operational focus was on the development of specialist adhesive tapes and on the structured establishment of an efficient sales organisation. During the start-up phase, the products were manufactured by the associated company on a job order basis.

Rapid success and solid growth enabled POLI-TAPE in 1997 to start up a coating line and thus to lay the foundation for the subsequent in-house production of adhesive films. As a result of ongoing, extensive investments in specialist technology and capacity expansion, product quality improved substantially, which created the basis for further sales growth.
2001
Establishment of POLI-TAPE USA Inc.
An important step towards the company's international orientation was taken in 2001 with the establishment of POLI-TAPE USA Inc. in Jacksonville (Florida) as a subsidiary of POLI-TAPE Klebefolien GmbH. The proximity of the North and Central American markets allowed the subsidiary from the outset to achieve continuous sales growth in the double-digit range.
2002
Setting up of a New Administration and Manufacturing Facility.
Business Relocation
Expansion of the company’s slitting and storage capacity.
Due to the ongoing dynamic company development and because of lack of space at the original company location, the entire business was relocated within the town of Remagen in 2002. Within an area of 15,000 sqm, a manufacturing and administration building was completed with a floor space of 6,500 sqm. In the years 2005 and 2006, adjacent sites covering an area of 55,000 sqm were also purchased in order to be prepared for future challenges in terms of production technology and logistics.
2004
Contract Slitting for Well-Known Brand Manufacturers
Investment in a fully automatic system for adhesive tape slitting.
At the end of 2005, Walter Möhren acquired the entire interest in POLI-TAPE Klebefolien GmbH.
2006
Expansion of capacity for manufacturing and packaging textile transfer films.
Establishment of the affiliate POLI-TAPE Italia S.r.l.
In 2006, the company's quality management system was certified to standard DIN EN ISO 9001 by TÜV Rheinland
(German technical inspection association). This certification marked a further consistent step in POLI-TAPE's long tradition of customer dedication, enabling the company to meet customer requirements even more effectively and thus ensuring ever-increasing, long-term customer satisfaction.
In July 2006, President Walter Möhren founded the affiliate POLI-TAPE Italia S.r.l. (Brescia). This has provided POLI-TAPE with the technical resources required for the in-house production and converting of transfer films for its core business Textile Graphics.

2009 has been a year of expansion for the POLI-TAPE Group. The new administrative building that was constructed in Remagen is the basis for the extension of our sales organisation. It will enable us to operate even more efficiently in our existing and future markets. The new, dynamic markets in Asia and South America also necessitate a stronger sales organisation.
The expansion of the Remagen site hasn't just had a positive effect on sales, it has also enabled us to take the urgently necessary measure of increasing our laboratory capacity. The laboratory in Remagen is equipped with the very latest development and analysis technology. As a result, we have been able to pool the entire group's product development operations at the Remagen site, which further enhances POLI-TAPE's innovative strength.
We are also making further investments in production technology. The second coating line in Remagen hasn't just increased our production capacity, it also has more advanced technology which means we can manufacture a wider range of products.
The acquisition of the Sign & Digital division of KEMICA S.p.a. Italy on 1st of March 2009 has further improved the POLI-TAPE Group's international competitive strength. The production facility which has been taken over is in Savogna D'Isonzo (Gorizia). Business operations will be incorporated in the newly founded KEMICA S.r.l. Although KEMICA S.r.l. is consolidated in the POLI-TAPE Group, it continues to operate in its market as an independent entity.
Both water and solvent-based adhesives can be coated at the Savogna D'Isonzo site. POLI-TAPE Italia S.r.l. (Brescia) has additional casting technology for the production of polyurethane and PVC film, providing the POLI-TAPE Group with technologically advanced production processes that secure it a competitive advantage in its core markets.
Today, POLI-TAPE has developed into an excellently positioned company: Over a period of only 17 years of corporate history, POLI-TAPE has established a firm place in the market. Investments in vertically integrated conversion technology have enabled the company to maintain consistency in supplying top quality products.
Compliance with highest technical standards also set at in-house level and constant innovation have greatly contributed to the products' competitive edge.
2011
Plant expansion with a floor space of 9.000m².
Two new coating lines, converting and packing machines go into operation.
After a huge investment in a new building with a floor space of 9.000 m² to be used for coating, converting and for warehouse purposes as well as two new coating lines have been put into operation at the end of 2011.
The plant extension comprises of two new coating lines suitable for processing dispersion and solvent adhesive and for the siliconisation of paper liners. In addition a fully automated, robot supported converting and packing machine will go into operation.
The coating lines are equipped with a high quality finishing technology which permits the manufacturing of adhesive films to the highest technical standard. Especially to be emphasised is the manufacturing of the complete range of Sign and particularly Digital Printing Films.
